Hepatitis C virus infection in Ghana and Iran

Hepatitis C virus infection in Ghana and Iran: A narrative review of current epidemiology and combating strategies(بین الملل)

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an RNA virus that is the most common cause of chronic hepatitis and is acknowledged as an issue of major public health importance for most countries in the world. The contribution of viral hepatitis including HCV to morbidity and death are thought to be substantial in Ghana and Iran and should be accorded greater attention. Understanding the short- and longer-term impacts of HCV infection and its natural history together with the epidemiology is vital in reducing it. Methods: Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science databases will be searched, as well as Google Scholar search engine, for primary studies published in the past two decades from ۱۹۹۵–۲۰۲۱ inclusive. We will specifically search for primary studies as well as studies using qualitative methodologies. All retrieved studies will be assessed for eligibility according to specific inclusion/exclusion criteria, data completeness, and methodological coherence.
